Now, the high street and luxury swimwear brands we stan – from fashion-forward Free People and Duskii to Olympian-approved Speedo – are injecting more modest silhouettes into their SS25 collections, and long-sleeved swimsuits are everywhere. We were excited to see GLAMOUR editor-loved swimwear brand Hunza G has also released long-sleeve cuts, just in time for a pre-summer bikini collection update.
It may have just been the rise, neckline or colour of your one-piece you’ve experimented with over past summers, but surf-inspired long-sleeve swimsuits are a tempting addition to your poolside repertoire. Not only do they offer a little more coverage and UV protection in the water, but a sartorial treat is even more tempting when you can wear it out of the waves, too. Doubling up as a bodysuit or crop top, the versatile long-sleeve swimsuit looks endlessly chic with a sarong or pair of high-waisted denim shorts at the beach bar. If they’re good enough for Sydney and Kim, then they’re good enough for us.
You can pick up the more traditional rash guard styles – done well by sports swimwear labels like Billabong and Roxy – but a quick Google search for long sleeve swimsuits will reveal plenty of more trend-led alternatives by the aforementioned haute-couture swimwear brands you adore.
Free People’s Seea Palomar Crop Top Rashguard pairs perfectly with the coordinating Surf Bottoms for those that prefer a two-piece. Look to Agua Bendita’s pretty patterns for swimsuits you’ll want to wear to the beach and beyond, and Marysia North Sea Rashguard Swimsuit – complete with scallop-edge finish – is the white hen party-appropriate modest swimsuit of our dreams. For more athletic vibes by the lido this summer, consider Nike’s Hydralock Fusion Long Sleeve Swimsuit in black, or the Speedo Swim Tops Long Sleeve Hooded Shrug Top over your current favourite swimming cossie.
