The legendary Italian designer Giorgio Armani has passed away today at the age of 91! The elegantly tailored suits and sumptuous evening gowns created by the late Giorgio Armani have been favourites of Royal Ladies for decades!
Queen Mathilde of Belgium has worn Armani Privé for the majority of her gala appearances for years, like for the Wedding of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, Wedding of Prince Albert II of Monaco, Queen Margrethe’s 75th Birthday Celebrations, Belgian State Visit to Denmark, and the Australian State Visit to Belgium. After Natan, Armani is no doubt her most worn designer.
Queen Mathilde has continued to wear Armani Privé for some of her most fabulous gala appearances, like the French State Visit to Belgium, Belgian State Visit to Luxembourg, Enthronement of Emperor Naruhito of Japan, Swiss State Visit to Belgium, Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s 18th Birthday Banquet, Dutch State Visit to Belgium, Belgian State Visit to Germany, Luxembourg State Visit to Belgium in 2024.
Like her mother, the Duchess of Brabant has also worn Armani gowns for her gala appearances, like Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s 18th Birthday Banquet at the Royal Palace of Oslo in 2022 and also the Banquet to celebrate the Wedding of Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa at the Al Husseiniya Palace in 2023.
Queen Rania of Jordan has worn Armani for several years, including on several visits to Italy, most notably wearing two vintage Armani gowns for the Wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in Venice earlier this year.
