- Prince Harry visited Queen Elizabeth II’s grave in Windsor soon after arriving in the U.K.
- Sources say he had to get permission from King Charles before visiting his late grandmother’s resting place.
- King Charles only granted permission if Harry agreed to an “absolutely no cameras” rule.
Prince Harry visited the UK this week, before heading on to Ukraine, and met with King Charles for the first time in 19 months. But his first stop? Visiting his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s grave. And while you’d think Harry would be able to pay his respects without much fuss, turns out Harry had to get permission from his dad to visit—and King Charles only granted it under “one strict order.”
According to Rob Shutter’s ShutterScoop, Harry was told “absolutely no cameras.” As a source put it, “The King allowed Harry to pay his respects, but only if it stayed private. That meant no Netflix crews, no photographers, no sneaky social media posts.” A courtier added, “Charles didn’t want her memory turned into content. This was about respect, not publicity.”
Apparently, the royals are still reeling from Netflix’s docuseries Harry & Meghan showing private footage and vowed, “That will never happen again. The King drew a red line.”
Everyone’s clicking on…
ShutterScoop previously reported that Charles’ decision to grant Harry permission for the visit was “a highly personal gesture. The King wanted to make sure Harry had access.” But apparently William wasn’t on board. Per a royal source, “William believes Harry caused his grandmother deep stress. He would never have greenlit this moment.”
