Dakota Johnson‘s red carpet beauty look is always about glow – from her luminous skin, to her rom-com flush and softly shimmering eye makeup. But for the Kering Foundation Caring For Women dinner in New York City on 11 September, it wasn’t the come-hither kohl eyeliner or even her sheer, floral-embroidered lace dress that caught our attention.
The real smoke show was the on trend, halo fringe that framed her face and pulled the entire look together.

Face-framing bangs, with an emphasis on healthy shine and natural movement, are huge for autumn 2025 – especially the halo fringe, says Melissa Timperley, celebrity hairstylist and founder of Melissa Salons, who contributed to GLAMOUR’s best autumn haircut trends round up.
It’s about working a fringe that “curves around the face like a halo, creating instant lift and movement, as well as contouring your cheekbones,” she notes.

The real draw of the halo fringe, however, is that it looks effortlessly chic, whether you opt to style it smooth like Dakota or with a more lived-in texture. “Universally flattering, endlessly versatile and designed to frame the face—it’s the fringe that’s set to dominate in autumn 2025,” Melissa predicts.
Other celebrities who have co-signed the trend include Daisy Edgar Jones and country singer Peyton Porter.
