‘This is freedom of speech!’ Keir Starmer branded a ‘hypocrite’ for condemning ‘violence’ at Unite the Kingdom rally

Sir Keir Starmer has been branded a “hypocrite” by an MEP after condemning the “violence” and “assaults” on police officers at this weekend’s Unite the Kingdom rally.

Speaking to GB News, Polish MEP Dominik Tarczyński called on the British patriots to “demand what is needed”, and not let people such as Sir Keir “put you in a box of racist or fascist”.

The Prime Minister condemned the violence against police at this weekend’s Unite the Kingdom rally in central London.

Writing on social media, Sir Keir said: “People have a right to peacefully protest. It’s our core of our country’s values, but we will not stand for assaults on police officers doing their job, or for people feeling intimidated on our streets because of the colour of their skin or background.

“Britain is a nation proudly built on tolerance, diversity and respect. Our flag represents our diverse country and we will never surrender it to those that use it as a symbol of violence, fear and division.”

Discussing the statement on GB News, Mr Tarczyński fumed: “At Notting Hill Carnival there were 528 arrests, weapons, 46, sexual offences 18.

“And now at Unite the Kingdom, arrests, 25, weapons zero, sexual offences zero. I didn’t see Prime Minister condemning these kind of actions, why?”

Hitting out at the “narrative” portrayed by the language in Sir Keir’s statement, the MEP stated that it is an attempt to “stop us demanding Europe to be Europe”.

Mr Tarczyński told GB News: “We know that this narrative about aggressive language, violence is a way to stop us demanding Europe to be Europe. They want to put us in a box of violence, racism, fascism.

“I’ve been called a racist, I’ve been called an Islamophobe, I’ve been called a communist, I’ve been called a Russian asset, I’ve been told I’m paid by Mossad, I’ve been called all these names.”

Delivering a message to the “British patriots”, the Polish MEP demanded Britons to “not let hypocrites stop you from your actions”.

He declared: “Whenever it fits them, you are a Mossad, Russian asset, fascist, Islamophobe, communist or whatever.

“So my message to the British patriots, from whatever background you come from, do not let them put you in a box.

“What is our goal? Our goal is a great Christian Europe, not only by our faith, but by our culture, but by our law. We do not want Sharia law, we do not want any other laws. We want European law, we want Greek philosophy, Roman law.

“We want to have Europe as Europe. How simple is that? Where is the violence?”

As host Alex Armstrong argued that with such a “massive protest” as the Unite the Kingdom rally, there would be “some people that cause violence”, Mr Tarczyński disagreed.

He concluded: “It doesn’t compare with Carnival. That’s been the thing that’s really upset me, there’s been a lot of criticism. Don’t let hypocrites stop you from your actions, demand whatever is needed. It’s a freedom of speech.”
