Prince Harry seems to be taking steps to resolve the Royal Family Feud—at least when it comes to King Charles, who he just had a cup of tea with at Clarence House. And while Harry hasn’t said much about the visit, he did chat to The Guardian briefly, saying the meeting had brought the possibility of his kids spending time with King Charles “closer,” and that “the focus really has to be on my dad.”

Harry also mentioned Meghan Markle during the interview, saying she told him that telling the truth “is the most efficient way to live.”

“She said ‘just stick to the truth,'” Harry explained. “It is the thing I always fall back on. Always. And if you think like that, who would be stupid enough to lie? It takes up too much time and effort.”

As for Spare, Harry defended the memoir and said “I know that [speaking out] annoys some people and it goes against the narrative. The book? It was a series of corrections to stories already out there. One point of view had been put out and it needed to be corrected. I don’t believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public. It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible. My conscience is clear.”

He also denied being stubborn, saying “It’s not stubbornness, it is having principles” and that “it is not about revenge, it is about accountability.”

Meanwhile, The Guardian reports that Harry doesn’t “want to prolong any divisions with his family” and that he told them “you cannot have reconciliation before you have truth.”
