Some might say this royal news is a little nuts.

After learning Prince Louis, 7, was a fan of stashing conkers—or horse chestnuts—all over his family’s home, officials from World Conker Championships officials recently offered Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s youngest a role as the competition’s honorary patron. Ultimately, though, Louis won’t be taking his of conkers into an official capacity.

“We really appreciate the invite,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson said in a statement to The Telegraph Oct. 15, “but currently Prince Louis is ‘conker-trating’ on his studies.”

Kate—who also shares kids Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10, with William—had revealed Louis’ passion for conkers during a conversation last month with Chief Scout of the Scout Association Dwayne Fields.

“We keep finding conkers in cupboards, in his bed,” the 43-year old, co-president of the Scout Association said to him Sept. 18, PA Media reported, “conkers everywhere.”
