Gigi Hadid Paired Her Baby Barrel Jeans With the Perfect Grandma Shoes

Hey, sometimes you gotta keep it real! Instead of getting all gussied up, Gigi Hadid opted for a comfy, cosy evening ensemble for a family night out, even wearing the ballet flat’s sometimes forgotten ancestor: the grandma loafer. Out to dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica to celebrate her father’s upcoming birthday, Gigi was joined by her dad, Mohamed Hadid, her brother Anwar, her sister Marielle, and her father’s girlfriend.

In a cosy, elevated, androgynous look, the model paired wide-leg jeans (with inner seam detailing that gives them a bit more barrel shape and style than your average slacks) with a slouchy black button-front shirt and accessorised with a black belt and a tiny tan bag. Somehow having three colours of leather makes it work way better than if she’d just gone with two. On top of the whole look, Hadid tossed on a zip-up jacket, just to keep it dad-core.

The Guest in Residence founder has never been afraid to prioritise comfort when it comes to footwear, stepping out a month prior in Uggs on the streets of New York City.

Gigi Hadid’s sister Bella, meanwhile, was absent from the celebration. She has been facing health concerns in recent months, though she was thankfully able to rally and participate in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in October. On her Instagram, the younger Hadid model shared pictures from a surprise birthday celebration thrown by her close friends around Halloween (Bella’s birthday is October 9; she posted on November 2) featuring pumpkin painting and lots of candy. Hailey Bieber figures heavily in the slideshow, which you can see here. “Surprise 👻 I have the best friends ever cutest girls in the world 🩷 I love you so so much,” she wrote in the caption.

Hope she’s well, wherever she’s at! Happy birthday to all Hadids.
