Ruby Wax has had something of a baptism of fire when it comes to her I’m A Celebrity 2025 experience, already proving to be quite the divisive figure.

She has already received criticism for calling her pre-camp hotel “trash”, demanding a room change, and then ruffling more feathers by telling fellow contestant AngryGinge that he was standing in her light. Ouch.

Ruby is 72 years old, and is the oldest contestant to join I’m A Celebrity 2025.

What has Ruby Wax done in her career?

The star began her career working in theatre, studying at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in the 1970s. She then moved into TV comedy, appearing on shows such as Girls on Top and Chariots of Fire, and working on Absolutely Fabulous as a script editor.

How did Ruby Wax become famous?

By the 1990s, Ruby had a popular TV show called When Ruby Wax Met…, which saw her interview some of biggest stars at the time, such as Pamela Anderson, Madonna, O. J. Simpson, Jim Carrey and even Donald Trump.

Ruby put her TV career on hold after a period of depression and went on to become a mental health advocate. She is a visiting professor in the School of Mental Health Nursing at the University of Surrey and holds an Honorary Doctorate from the School of Psychology from The University of East London and University of Staffordshire.
