Jeremy Corbyn has broken his silence amid the ongoing drama engulfing his new left-wing party with co-leader by Zarah Sultana.
Speaking at the inaugural Your Party conference in Liverpool, the Islington North MP addressed avid supporters in a packed-out auditorium.
The former Labour leader called for “unity” in the wake of a series of embarrassing gaffes and public spats with the Coventry South MP.
Mr Corbyn said: “Last night here in Liverpool, we had number of events on and Zarah (Sultana) spoke at a great rally and I very happily and proudly sent a message to that rally – and I was grateful that it was read out to that rally – of support and solidarity.

“I was at a poetry and music event at the Black E, and Zarah sent a message to that.
“As a party, we’ve got to come together and be united because division and disunity will not serve the interests of the people that we want to represent.
“So that’s the basis on which we launch the party now.”
The Independent MP subsequently called to establish a “membership oversight committee” to “steward” the establishment of Your Party groups.
Mr Corbyn said he hoped to see power of the party in the hands of its members “as soon as possible”.
But the commitment to a united front came just hours after he refused to even refer to Ms Sultana as a friend.
Speaking to Sky News, he binned off dubbing his fellow MP as a friend and described the pair as “colleagues in Parliament, and we obviously communicate and so on”.
His plea on Saturday morning to unite the party has followed several weeks of scandal enveloping the party, causing bitter divisions between members.

The party’s very beginnings were symtomatic of an unhappy marriage between the two MPs with the co-leaders clashing over its organisation from the get-go.
Back in July, a virtual meeting of socialist politicans and activists voted to form a left-wing party fronted by Ms Sultana and Mr Corbyn.
But Mr Corbyn was reportedly “frustrated” at Ms Sultana announcing that she would be co-leading the party ahead of settling a formal leadership contest.
Later in September, Ms Sultana sent out an unauthorised sign-up to members, sending fees to MOU Operations Ltd, a company formed in April independent of Mr Corbyn and his team, which the veteran MP told supporters to ignore.
Ms Sultana vowed that she was seeking to “safeguard the grassroots involvement”, lamenting that she had been subjected to a “sexist boys’ club”.
She then desisted from legal action “as an act of good faith” before flirting with suing the authors for making “false and defamatory statements”.
Earlier this month, MPs Adnan Hussain and Iqbal Mohamed resigned from Your Party over “persistent infighting” and disagreements over trans rights.
Ms Sultana later assumed total sole control of MOU last month after its three directors left the company but, under the new system, legal issues prevented members from transferring their data.
Reports suggested the total amount of money involved is around £1,300,000, with £800,000 from initial donations and the rest from Ms Sultana membership launch.
The financial management exhibited from Ms Sultana culminated in her being referred to Parliament’s standards watchdog over her handling of Your Party’s finances and membership data, GB News revealed.
