As preparations for the British royal family‘s annual Christmas gathering at Sandringham continue apace, one previously invited guest has officially lost his seat at the table: Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The ex-prince will not spend the holidays with his extended family, according to Tatler, owing to his ongoing fall from grace.

A separate report in The Daily Mail also noted that Andrew will likely celebrate Christmas at Royal Lodge in Windsor. Though his eviction was previously considered imminent, it now appears that the disgraced royal will not move out until early 2026.

Last year, of course, Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson were absent from Christmas at Sandringham, though they were in fact invited. Kate Middleton and Prince William, meanwhile, were not on board with “sharing the love.” The couple reportedly banned Andrew from the future queen’s annual “Together at Christmas” carol service. “Although very much a family affair… there was no space for Uncle Andy,” royal columnist Ephraim Hardcastle noted in The Daily Mail.

Andrew and Fergie were last seen celebrating the holidays at Sandringham in 2022, shortly after his brother Charles ascended the throne. The king’s invitation in 2024 apparently represented a “peace offering,” but relations have since deteriorated beyond repair between the two.
