Almost 15 years since we were first introduced to Westeros, we’re heading back for a brand-new story. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms takes us into familiar, deadly territory, but with a completely new cast of characters.
The Targaryens are still ruling, as seen in House of the Dragon, but their iconic dragons are nowhere in sight. Instead, this unlikely duo — taking inspiration from fan-favourite pairings like Arya and the Hound or Jaime and Brienne — will navigate treacherous lands, face deadly foes, and uncover secrets that could shake the Seven Kingdoms to its core.
And if the trailer is anything to go by, expect plenty of the nudity, violence and raunch that Game of Thrones fans have come to know and love. Here’s everything we know so far about A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, including when and where you can watch it in the UK.

What is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms about?
Here’s HBO’s official take: “A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wander Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon hasn’t yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”

How is it connected to the Game of Thrones story?
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms follows the adventures, and misadventures, of hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg. Who are these people? Well, if you’ve only watched Game of Thrones, you’ve never met them as they weren’t in the main series, though this is very much a Game of Thrones story.
The series is a prequel, set 70 years after House of the Dragon and a full century before the events of the original show.
So did the producers just make this up? Not at all. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is adapted from George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas, and Martin himself is thrilled with the adaptation: “I’m very glad that Dunk and Egg are gonna exist in the world, because I love these characters, and I think other people will love them, too.”
