Happy Birthday to Queen Mathilde of Belgium, who is be celebrating her 53rd Birthday today! With one of the smallest jewellery collections among her European counterparts, Queen Mathilde is frequently seen in just a few limited pieces, but has been slow adding splendid pieces to her collection, including this Graff Diamond Necklace!
A striking Diamond Necklace from the Graff “Foliage” collection, featuring a butterfly motif with marquise, pear, and round diamonds, totaling around 17 carats.
Queen Mathilde debuted the Graff Diamond Necklace at Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s 18th Birthday Banquet at the Royal Palace in Oslo, when it was paired with the Wolfers Necklace Tiara.
The following year, Queen Mathilde paired the Graff Diamond Necklace with the Nine Provinces Bandeau for a State Banquet at Schloss Bellevue during the Belgian State Visit to Germany.
Queen Mathilde also wore the Nine Provinces Tiara with the Graff Diamond Necklace for the State Banquet at the Royal Chateau of Laeken for the Luxembourg State Visit to Belgium.
More recently, Queen Mathilde wore the Graff Diamond Necklace with the Nine Provinces Bandeau for Grand Duke Guillaume’s Accession Gala last year, and there is no doubt it will be worn for years to come!
