Who Plays Sophie in Bridgerton? Meet The Season 4 Cast

Bridgerton is back, baby! Season four (part one) of the beloved period drama dropped on Netflix on 29 January, and this time we’re following the love story of Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek – bringing with it a whole new family to get to know.

As ever, the show is packed with string quartet song covers, pastel gowns and sexy scenes. And fan-favourite Benedict, who has never been one to settle down, is in for the Cinderella treatment with Sophie – who he meets after she sneaks into a masquerade ball. How very fairytale-coded.

It’s sweet, it’s steamy, it’s… bonkers, at times – but once again, Bridgerton has us officially gripped. But like any binge watcher, you’re probably wondering who the newest members of the Ton are – including who plays Sophie, Benedict’s brave and bold love interest.

Here’s all the cast and characters of Bridgerton season four, both new and returning.

Sophie is the lead character for season 4 of Bridgerton, played by Australian actor Yerin Ha. A hard-working maid and illegitimate daughter to Richard Gunningworth, Earl of Penwood, she meets Benedict as the ‘lady in silver’ at Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade ball in episode one – where she immediately catches his attention. Yerin’s casting, alongside Katie Leung, Michelle Mao and Isabella Wei, sees an all-Asian family join the show.

Speaking to Glamour about her casting in 2025, Yerin said: “What I love about Bridgerton is that it shows representation in a way that doesn’t require over-explaining, like this doesn’t have to be a ‘Korean’ story. I love that it shows we can all coexist in this space and not have it be a big thing. Also, Benedict falls in love with Sophie as a person, and it’s about fighting for the person on the inside.”
