The Prince and Princess of Wales have marked Valentine’s Day by sharing a portrait as Meghan posted a rare picture of Prince Harry with their daughter, Lilibet.

William and Kate posted the black and white photo of themselves sitting side-by-side in a field on social media platform X on Saturday with the simple message “Happy Valentine’s Day”.

Compared to the picture the royal couple shared on 14 February last year of Prince William kissing Kate on the cheek, this year’s outdoor scene appears wholesome and muted.

The snap was posted as the Royal Family grapples with the fallout of fresh allegations concerning Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s ties to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Last year marked the first time the Prince and Princess of Wales had uploaded a photo commemorating Valentine’s Day.

The colour photo of the couple holding hands while sitting on a rug in a forest was a repurposed still taken from a video announcing that Kate had completed her cancer treatment.

The public affirmation of love came after Kate underwent abdominal surgery and chemotherapy to treat an undisclosed type of cancer.

More on Kate Middleton

Kate is now in remission after being diagnosed in 2024, the same year that the King had his own cancer diagnosis.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex posted a picture on Instagram of the Duke of Sussex standing on a lawn holding Lilibet, 4, in his arms.

Lilibet, dressed in a pale pink ballet outfit, holds strings attached to a bouquet of red balloons.

“These two + Archie = my forever Valentines,” the caption said.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex rarely post pictures of their children.

The couple stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in 2020 and now live in California.
