Amal Clooney Looks So Fresh With an 8-Inch Chop and a ‘Bubble Blowout’

Amal Clooney will likely never stray far from her signature long, flowing brunette hair, but she recently let go of a solid eight inches of length, and the resulting cut looks healthy, bouncy, and fresh.

As a reminder, in early October, the human rights lawyer’s hair looked like this: Long brunette waves with caramel highlights ending at the middle of her rib cage.

But on 6 October, her hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos, revealed on Instagram that he’d given her not just the regular split-ends trim but an actual chop. He then gave her a “bubble blowout.” The result, which you can see here, grazes the top of her décolletage and looks just a tad less Red Carpet Princess and more Extremely Powerful Barbie, apropos for her speech at the Clooney Foundation for Justice.

Speaking to Vogue, Dimitris revealed some of the details and specifics behind her recent hair update, telling the outlet that in addition to snipping off six to eight inches, they also took her base colour a shade darker while leaving highlights around her face for that glow effect. “Amal has never had a haircut like this before,” he said.

He also does Amal Clooney’s makeup, and he has been playing with, of course, “toasted” shades recently, the go-to buzzword for autumn 2025. All of the makeup products Amal wears are by Charlotte Tilbury, as the entrepreneur is a close friend.

During a chat with Glamour editor-in-chief Samantha Barry, the two women spoke about their friendship and their philanthropy efforts, and Amal opened up about what she admires most in the makeup maestro, saying, “Charlotte, as soon as she walks in the room, she just lifts everyone’s spirits. She is just so positive, whether she is with someone she’s just met for two seconds or her long-standing friends. I feel incredibly lucky to have friends like her in my life.”

Good friends and no split ends: It’s all coming up Amal.
