Bella Hadid just declared honey bronde your next summer shade

Cannes you believe it? Bella Hadid debuted a new summer hair shade just in time for the Cannes Film Festival.

Arriving at the Hôtel Martinez in an easy, breezy all-white look, the model’s hair was noticeably lighter than we’ve seen in a while – this time around a gorgeous honey bronde. While usually opting for darker shades in contrast to her naturally blonde sister Gigi Hadid, the model’s new ‘do toes the line between a light brown and golden blonde depending on the light – making it perfect for the summer.

So, most importantly, how can you get the look yourself? “When you’re in the salon, ask for a soft, seamless honey bronde with natural depth at the root and a blend of golden and caramel hues through the mid-lengths and ends,” says Sam Burnett, owner and creative director of Hare & Bone. “Bringing a few reference images always helps, and I recommend specifying a lived-in, sun-kissed balayage effect. The goal is natural, multidimensional colour with a radiant honey glow.”

Before you go rushing off to the nearest salon to get your own honey bronde locks, Sam cautions that those with darker hair will have to go the long way round to achieve it. “It’s important to be patient and realistic about what’s achievable in one session,” he explains. “Lifting dark hair to a warm, honey bronde shade often requires multiple visits to maintain the hair’s health and strength. Have an honest consultation with your colourist about your hair history, and be prepared for a gradual process with in-salon treatments that protect and nourish the hair throughout.”

If you’re lucky enough to advance straight to honey bronde, what can you do to maintain the shade all summer long? For starters, “always protect your hair from heat with a thermal protector, and don’t skip regular salon gloss or toner appointments to maintain that perfect bronde hue and shine,” he says.

Product-wise, Davines is his go-to for colour maintenance. “Start with the Davines MINU Shampoo and MINU Conditioner – they’re specifically designed for colour-treated hair, helping to protect and prolong vibrancy. For deeper nourishment, I love the Davines Nourishing Hair Building Pak, which reinforces and hydrates after lightening,” he shares. “To preserve the honey bronde tone and keep it looking fresh, use the Davines Alchemic Golden Shampoo and Conditioner once a week to enhance those warm reflects. Regularly incorporating a leave-in product like the Davines OI All In One Milk will keep the hair soft, shiny, and manageable.”
