Jennifer Lawrence is pretty much always hair goals. In the past few months, she’s been wearing her long blond hair in soft layers with matching side-swept curtain bangs for an undone boho look, perfect for summer. Now that the autumn is creeping in, Lawrence has adopted a fresh look for the colder season. At the premiere of her new film Die, My Love, Lawrence rocked a new full fringe.
Her new look features choppy straight bangs, while the rest of her long hair falls smooth and silky down her back. It’s the elegant, neat version of her playful summer hairstyle. Her hair also looks a tad darker than before – perfect for the transition to the darker season.
In the past, Jennifer Lawrence has often opted for curtain bangs, which gently fell around her facial features without appearing too severe. The transition to straight bangs is bold, but quite fitting – unlike more textured bangs, a straight-cut full fringe can be styled in a relatively versatile way: either elegant and sleek, as Lawrence wears it, or a little wispy with more texture.
For her premiere appearance, Lawrence wore a look from the Phoebe Philo Collection D. She wore a tailored khaki dress with asymmetrical sleeves, cutout details at the waist and back and a slim black belt. A thigh-high slit in the dress revealed a pair of black, calf-high suede pumps. This outfit perfectly complements the clean lines of her new hair.
A full fringe look particularly good on people with oval, heart-shaped or elongated faces. It can balance out proportions by placing the focus on the lower half of the face. Plus, it works with almost any hair texture, as long as it’s cut loosely. However, if you have very fine hair or a very pronounced forehead, it is better to have your bangs cut slightly graduated to avoid severity.
