WATCH IN FULL: Danny Kruger outlines Reform’s three-point plan to ‘restore Whitehall’

Speaking at the press conference, Danny Kruger said: “The first thing is we will be prepared. The second thing we will do is to grip the civil service itself.

“It is simply not acceptable, and Reform UK will not accept that, ministers have to take advice from and trust the execution of their decisions to, officials who answer to different bosses than them and who they cannot when they need to quickly remove from their posts.”

The Reform MP said the party will bring more expertise, advice and “executive capability from outside Government to serve in Whitehall”.

It said it will reform the civil service code to “ensure officials at the top of the civil service and certainly those at the centre of Government are directly answerable to politicians”.

LP Staff Writers

Writers at Lord’s Press come from a range of professional backgrounds, including history, diplomacy, heraldry, and public administration. Many publish anonymously or under initials—a practice that reflects the publication’s long-standing emphasis on discretion and editorial objectivity. While they bring expertise in European nobility, protocol, and archival research, their role is not to opine, but to document. Their focus remains on accuracy, historical integrity, and the preservation of events and individuals whose significance might otherwise go unrecorded.
