WATCH IN FULL: Donald Trump and Keir Starmer deliver press conference after signing tech deal

US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer hosted a press conference this afternoon after signing a tech deal.

The two leaders held a bilateral meeting at Chequers, the prime minister’s estate in Buckinghamshire..

They later hosted a conference where they were grilled by reporters on free speech, immigration and connections to Jeffrey Epstein, with Mr Starmer having recently dismissed Peter Mandelson from his ambassadorial post.

The Business and Trade Department says the agreements with US companies will create over 7,600 jobs “in all areas of the UK” and that the package “reflects the scale of ambition shared by both nations”.

LP Staff Writers

Writers at Lord’s Press come from a range of professional backgrounds, including history, diplomacy, heraldry, and public administration. Many publish anonymously or under initials—a practice that reflects the publication’s long-standing emphasis on discretion and editorial objectivity. While they bring expertise in European nobility, protocol, and archival research, their role is not to opine, but to document. Their focus remains on accuracy, historical integrity, and the preservation of events and individuals whose significance might otherwise go unrecorded.
