Alice in Borderland Season 4: Everything We Know About the Future of Netflix’s Sci-Fi Epic

In twist that feels vaguely reminiscent of the recent Squid Game ending, the show seems to pave the way for an American spin-off: the very last scene of season 3 sees the camera focusing in on the name tag of an American waitress. It is, of course, Alice. If Arisu represented “Alice” in the first three seasons of the show, this could be a hint that a new American Alice may take her place in the Borderlands.

Will there be an Alice in Borderland season 4?

Unfortunately, we simply don’t know. Although nothing has been confirmed, the creative team seems keen to keep it going.

“If you’re asking me whether I’d be interested or not, I would certainly say yes,” said director Shinsuke Sato to RadioTimes.com.

What could Alice in Borderland season 4 be about?

Chances are, season 4 will open up the story to feature new characters – possibly some from America as the season 3 finale teased.

However, Tao Tsuchiya, who plays Usagi in the series, has some thoughts on how Alice in Borderland could continue with a focus on the same characters.

“I have a premise where the child will find themselves in Borderland and the parents have to go in and save them,” she told Radio Times. “The kids don’t understand the world at all but then the parents do.”

She went on, “If it were a one-off show or film, then it would be us clearing the games by ourselves, without a child. But this is something that’s possible because it’s a show over a couple of seasons. We’d love for our own life experiences that come with our age to be projected into the story. I’m holding my hand out into the ether and hope one of the producers will be listening!”

When might Alice in Borderland come out?

Based on the timeline of Alice in Borderland so far, it would probably be a lengthy wait. Season 1 of the show came out in 2020, season 2 came out in 2022, and season 3 dropped in 2025. That means we’re probably looking at a season 4 release date of 2027 or even 2028.
