The Movie Partnership
The ‘Best Podcast’ category
The inaugural inclusion of podcasts at the Golden Globes is as big a surprise as any, though the nominations reveal did shut out a number of controversial names from the big night. Despite being the most popular podcast on all major podcast platforms in 2025, The Joe Rogan Experience failed to make the list, as did other political podcasts on the shortlist, including The Ben Shapiro Show and The Megyn Kelly Show.
Those that are nominated for the ‘Best Podcast’ Golden Globe are Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard, Call Her Daddy, Good Hang With Amy Poehler, The Mel Robbins Podcast, SmartLess and Up First.
The Last of Us
Despite being a consistent big-hitter at awards season in the past, The Last Of Us failed to make an impression – other than a ‘Best Female Actor – Drama’ nomination for Bella Ramsey.
Wunmi Mosaku
There was quite rightly a lot of love for action-horror movie Sinners amongst the nominations, but sadly the brilliant Wunmi Mosaku was not included in any of the acting categories – unlike her co-star Michael B Jordan.

Landman
Despite such cult success with Yellowstone and its various spin-offs, Taylor Sheridan has consistently been snubbed by the Golden Globes over the years. His latest show – Landman, fronted by Billy-Bob Thornton and Demi Moore – failed to receive any nominations at all.
The Pitt‘s Katherine LaNasa
Medical drama The Pitt has taken US audiences by storm (coming to the UK in 2026, it’s said) – so nominations in the ‘Best Actor – Drama’ (Noah Wyle) and ‘Best Series – Drama’ categories are unsurprising. But despite recently winning an Emmy for her role in the show, Katherine LaNasa wasn’t recognised by the Globes, which is quite the shocker.
Jacob Elordi
It’s perhaps unsurprising to see Jacob on the awards scene again after his appearance in Frankenstein (for which he is nominated in the Best Supporting Male Actor category), but the star has also received a nod for a lesser-known project, The Narrow Road to the Deep North, for which he is also nominated for ‘Best Male Actor – Limited Series’.
The Box Office award
The Golden Globes’ award for Cinematic Box Office Achievement (introduced at the 2024 awards) aims to recognise the projects that are particularly popular with viewers – the likes of Wicked and Barbie are past winners, for example – but this year’s nominees are a little surprising. Avatar: Fire and Ash received a nod despite not being released yet, while the undoubtedly successful KPop Demon Hunters didn’t really get an official Box Office release, since it launched on Netflix. Meanwhile, Superman was left out despite grossing over $616 million globally. Make it make sense?
