The second film is expected to be a huge hit following the box office success of Wicked: Part I, which was nominated for 10 Academy Awards at the 2025 Oscars, as well as taking home the Oscars for Best Costume Design and Best Production Design.
Where to stream Wicked at home
As we mentioned, you’ll have to head to your local cinema to see the new film, but if you fancy rewatching Wicked: Part I to remind you of where Glinda and Elphaba left off, you can stream the film from the comfort of your very own home.
The adaptation of one of the West End’s longest-running musicals follows the first act of the theatrical production where Galinda — who eventually becomes Glinda the Good — recounts her time in Oz at Shiz University with her friend Elphaba, who would of course go on to become the Wicked Witch of the West.
Universal Pictures
The film features iconic songs from the musical, including Popular, Dancing Through Life, and Defying Gravity.
