This is statement jewellery’s time to shine.
Between weddings, Wimbledon and the plethora of summer parties in our calendars, we’re sure you, like us are booked and busy this season. Finding the right dresses and shoes to wear to each occasion is hard enough, but once you’re lucky enough to check both off the list, there are the accessories to think about.
When it comes to dressing up for a garden party or wedding weekend, this is the time to go big. Statement jewellery is the best way to elevate and easy, breezy summer dress, allowing it to go from a girls’ lunch to an evening event with just the swap of an earring.
Thankfully, when it comes to this year’s jewellery trends, it seems bohemian maximalism is back. You already know that resin bangle stacks are the arm candy of summer, and chunky gold jewellery are chunkier than ever. OTT ‘80s clip-on earrings, seen on the Saint Laurent runway, are also finding favour amongst our favourite It-girls, and then there’s all the shell and stone necklaces everyone’s been taking on their dreamy summer holidays.
Rat & Boa, one of our favourite destinations for slinky, party dresses has just launched a jewellery collection and it’s the embodiment of the aforementioned summer spirit. Perhaps they’re one of our favourite jewellery brands now, too. From feathered earrings to bold bangles to shell bracelets, each piece will immediately transform even a simple slip dress into a standout look worthy of the spotlight.

Pro tip: When it comes to styling statement jewellery, make sure to let your dress and neckline dictate where to place the focus. High necklines usually demand smaller earrings and a statement cuff, while lower necklines like a Bardot or strapless dress could use some giant earrings. Of course, a chunky necklace could also add sparkle to a collared dress, too. Whatever you choose, just remember Coco Chanel‘s rule and make sure to let only one piece of jewellery take the spotlight.
