For most maximalists, clashing prints is nothing new. But one of the biggest autumn/winter fashion trends, as seen at Sportmax, Alaïa and Ferragamo, is maximalist dressing for minimalists. That is: embrassing personality during the Christmas season – through prints, textures and accents that bring fun to the outfits of those who have always adored quiet luxury. Here, we take that trend to the next level.
If you are new to the maximalist game yet feeling adventurous, you can add a printed bag and a warm burgundy boucle blazer to your sequin trouser get-up. The key here is to mix prints and textures, to create an interesting look. Stick to three different prints and textures in total. Knowing how to style sequin trousers has never been more fun.
5. With leather
In my personal opinion, styling sequin trousers with a leather blazer or leather jacket and a boxy T-shirt, is the best way to go. Especially if you opt for a total-black look, like Jeanette Madsen has here. Pair your black sequin trousers with a plain black t-shirt, a pair of pointed toe boots and a boxy, leather jacket.
Alternatively, look to the Scandi set and pair your sequin trousers with a structured waisted blazer – I love this collarless iteration from Aligne – or even a longline leather vest. Also collarless, Aligne’s Leo Leather Waistcoat will become a timeless addition to your winter capsule wardrobe.
