How To Wear A Jumper Over A Dress Like All The Cool Girls This Winter

Layering season is finally here, and with it the age-old question: how to wear a jumper over a dress? A dress is so synonymous with summer, yet a good old cosy jumper gives full-on winter vibes. Can the two co-exist? I’m here to say a big resounding ‘yes!’.

I’ve spent my entire career — nay, my entire life — trying to solve fashion’s most frequently occurring problems, including this one. And the solution can be as simple as wearing a knit jumper over a dress. During the colder months, spring dresses are an untapped resource and a great way to give your favourite jeans a break.

Jumpers and dresses are an easy combo that’s chic and cosy, with that throw-on-and-go type of ease. When done right, the fashion tip makes seasonal layering feel totally refreshed — and it’s great for transitional weather. Ahead, I’m rounding up all my favourite styling tips for how to wear a jumper over a dress.

This is an outfit idea to save for those days when it’s quite literally too cold to function. A chunky textured jumper or statement cardi over a jumper dress looks incredibly elegant, but feels like you’re wearing a blanket. Love the versatility. And extra style points if your cardi has a cute print.
