Gala Dinner at Drottningholm Palace

Royal Guests from Denmark, Norway, The Netherlands and Belgium joined the Swedish Royal Family for a Gala Dinner at Drottningholm Palace on this day in 2010, 15 years ago, to launch the Wedding Festivities of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Daniel Westling!

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a Gala Dinner at Drottningholm Palace, two days before the Wedding of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Daniel Westling. Since this was a private Dinner, Royal Guests were only pictured departing their Royal Yachts or the Grand Hotel in Stockholm, with long-range shots taken of Drottningholm Palace.

LP Staff Writers

Writers at Lord’s Press come from a range of professional backgrounds, including history, diplomacy, heraldry, and public administration. Many publish anonymously or under initials—a practice that reflects the publication’s long-standing emphasis on discretion and editorial objectivity. While they bring expertise in European nobility, protocol, and archival research, their role is not to opine, but to document. Their focus remains on accuracy, historical integrity, and the preservation of events and individuals whose significance might otherwise go unrecorded.
