Wedding of Count Thierry de Limburg Stirum and Katia della Faille de Leverghem

The Countess of Paris led Royal and Noble Guests and Relatives to celebrate the Wedding of her grandson, Count Thierry de Limburg Stirum, and Katia della Faille de Leverghem in Belgium on this day in 1990, 35 years ago.

Count Thierry de Limburg Stirum, son of Princess Hélène d’Orléans and Count Evrard de Limburg Stirum, married Katia della Faille de Leverghem, daughter of Loïc della Faille de Leverghem and Marie-Paule Deckers, in Koningshof-Schoten.

Countess Katia wore a striking antique Diamond Tiara which she next wore for the Wedding Ball of his cousin, Duke Friedrich of Württemberg, and Princess Marie of Wied in 1993.

The Countess of Paris, grandmother of the groom, led the Royal and Noble Guests and Relatives, which included Princess Anne of Orléans, Duchess of Calabria, the Duke and Duchess of Orléans, Princess Claude of Orleans, and Princess Chantal d’Orléans as well as Princess Theresa of Orléans-Braganza.

LP Staff Writers

Writers at Lord’s Press come from a range of professional backgrounds, including history, diplomacy, heraldry, and public administration. Many publish anonymously or under initials—a practice that reflects the publication’s long-standing emphasis on discretion and editorial objectivity. While they bring expertise in European nobility, protocol, and archival research, their role is not to opine, but to document. Their focus remains on accuracy, historical integrity, and the preservation of events and individuals whose significance might otherwise go unrecorded.
