Details of the Wedding of Princess Marie Caroline of Liechtenstein

Royal Guests and Relatives are set to join the Princely Family of Liechtenstein to celebrate the Wedding of Princess Marie Caroline of Liechtenstein and Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer at Vaduz Cathedral on August 30th.

Princess Marie Caroline of Liechtenstein, the only daughter of Hereditary Prince Alois and Hereditary Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein, will marry Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer on 30 August 2025 at 11 a.m. in Vaduz Cathedral, which will be followed by a Reception at Vaduz Castle.

The Princely House of Liechtenstein is pleased to announce that the religious wedding of Her Serene Highness Princess Marie Caroline of Liechtenstein and Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer will take place on August 30, 2025, at 11 a.m. in Vaduz Cathedral.

The solemn wedding mass will be celebrated by Bishop Benno Elbs. In addition to the couple’s family members and friends, representatives of the country will also be present. A reception will take place at Vaduz Castle following the ceremony.

Attendance at the wedding ceremony in the cathedral and the reception at Vaduz Castle is reserved for the family and their invited guests. The couple and their family welcome everyone to join them in the ceremonial entry and exit in front of the church.

Princess Marie Caroline could wear the Habsburg Fringe Tiara or Kinsky Tiara, but we predict she may follow the tradition of her maternal family and wear the Douglas Floral Tiara on loan from her grandmother, Princess Elisabeth, Duchess in Bavaria, which was worn by Hereditary Princess Sophie and her sisters on their Wedding Days.

When Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein married Duchess Sophie in Bavaria in 1993, the bride’s grandfather, the Duke of Bavaria, held a magnificent Ball at Schloss Nymphenburg in Munich, with another Gala held at Schloss Vaduz. Lets hope that tradition for Galas is upheld next week.

Hereditary Prince Alois and Hereditary Princess Sophie are a regular presence at Royal and Noble events across Europe, so we expect many Royal and Noble Guests to gather in Vaduz to celebrate the Wedding of their only daughter, in addition to the extended Liechtenstein and Bavarian Royal Families who will no doubt be in attendance.

The Engagement of Princess Marie Caroline of Liechtenstein and Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer was announced last October:

‘H.S.H. the Hereditary Prince and H.R.H. The Hereditary Princess von und zu Liechtenstein are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Princess Marie Caroline, to Mr Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer
