Horror list for Keir Starmer as fury over digital ID poised to unleash Reform in his backyard – will YOUR seat flip?

Sir Keir Starmer has been hit with a horror list setting up Reform UK to turn Labour seats turquoise.

Over 1.7million people have signed a petition calling on the Government not to introduce digital ID cards, with several of them in Labour seats.

Some 27 of the top 40 constituency with the most signatures are Labour seats, with growing pressure from Nigel Farage’s Reform UK to snatch the seats from big Labour names.

Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper’s seat features in the top 25, with over 3,400 people in her constituency signing the petition.

Bridget Phillipson, a hopeful to become Labour’s deputy leader leads the list, with over 4,200 people signing the petition in her area.

Lisa Nandy also features in the list, with the Culture Secretary being a huge advocate for the scheme.

She confirmed to GB News that “all British adults” will have mandatory digital ID cards “by the end of Parliament”.

Discussing the plans, Ms Nandy said: “All British adults will have a digital ID by the end of this Parliament, but it’s not like an ID card scheme where you would be required to carry that around and show it to access services.

“The only thing that we will require people to produce a digital ID for is to work in this country, which we think will have a significant impact in helping us, alongside other measures, to tackle illegal migration.”

Ms Nandy claims that the scheme will “protect British people from being undercut by an illegal market in employment.

“When you’ve got a million young people who are not in education, employment or training, it is obviously having a significant impact on families up and down the country.”

What will boost Mr Farage are the other constituencies outside of Labour that are also pushing for the Government to scrap the digital ID scheme.

Big Tory names of Priti Patel and James Cleverly also have over 3,500 signatures in their constituencies, as Labour’s plan faces fierce backlash from all ends of the political spectrum.

More than nine out of 10 people disagree with the Government’s policy, with 93 per cent of GB News viewers opposing the plans.

The list will support Reform’s hopes of entering parliament, after a YouGov MRP poll of 13,000 respondents showed Reform claiming 311 seats.

Mr Farage’s party would only need a further 15 seats for a majority, as they hope that this list could flip some red seats turquoise.

The list will be a massive boost for Nigel Farage
