Until Prince Andrew’s out of sight, the controversies around this selfish, arrogant, entitled prince are never going to end. The drip-drip of poison from his lifetime of debauchery and uselessness is never ending.
And it continues to drip because every time he’s asked to tell the truth about his murky past with convicted paedophile Epstein – it just seems to become more murky. Andrew ends up just looking even more dirty, more seedy, more stupid.
Time and again, the Royal Family gets tainted by this man who has done nothing and achieved next to nothing in his pitiful life. So, now he’s had to relinquish all his royal titles.
Well, he only gave them up after being locked in “discussions” with King Charles. A tough conversation for any brothers involved in a family row.
King Charles, who every time Andrew hits the headlines must want to bat his head off the palace walls, was said to have told the disgraced ex-duke that he wasn’t prepared to have the monarchy take any more flak courtesy of his wrongdoing in their 10-minute phone call. However, far from being contrite, we’re told that when Charles confronted him, Andrew still showed a startling lack of contrition.
And that’s because he appear to think he’s done anything wrong – which comes after a lifetime of the sycophants around him telling him he hasn’t. Then, at the weekend, came the accusations that he’d told his Met Police bodyguard to dig up dirt on Virginia Giuffre so that she could be smeared and not him.
It is alleged that Andrew sought this information just before publication of the photograph in 2011 showing the two of them together when she was just 17-years-old. Andrew has consistently denied the allegations she has raised against him.
We don’t know if this new claim about the bodyguard is true – the Met is investigating – but would Is anyone actually be surprised if it is?
Because the truth is Andrew sees himself as the victim not Virginia Guiffre. Remember, in his infamous interview with Emily Maitlis, he appeared to show little to no sympathy for Epstein’s victims.
Now the police have launched an urgent internal inquiry into the e-mail Andrew allegedly sent to his bodyguard. So, even after his titles have been taken away, claims concerning Andrew are still rocking the Royal Family to its foundations
Which is why many are saying taking his titles just isn’t enough – that he should also be turfed out of the 30-roomed Royal Lodge in Windsor and there’s a growing number of MPs demanding that former republican Sir Keir Starmer strips him of his prince title.
Andrew has already given up his Duke of York title, his knighthood and his role as Royal Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order, but he still retains his Dukedom.
Only an act of Parliament can remove that. And some MPs want it to happen. The sex assault claims, his friendship with a human trafficking paedophile and the Chinese spy allegations have all just become too much for a public tired of seeing this utterly selfish, unrepentant prince living high on the hog and apparently showing zero remorse.

And, just as the spoiled, selfish Prince Harry actively set out to damage the monarchy, his uncle Andrew is right alongside him damaging its reputation – maybe beyond repair. Because, when we talk about the Royal Family now do we talk about the good work it does, what it achieves?
No, we talk about the scandals, the controversies, the black sheep, who week-after-week heap disgrace on an institution that many are now saying should no longer exist.
So, no it’s really not enough to just take this idiot’s titles. Because all that does is momentarily dent his inflated ego. It’s hardly a punishment which is why there needs to be a reckoning.
After a life of selfishness and greed, he needs to be made to take responsibility. In his role as a member of the Royal Family, Andrew’s contributed next to nothing to the world, he has let the monarchy down and he has embarrassed and let down his brother, the King.
While the rest of his family have devoted their lives to public service Andrew has devoted his to self-service. And forget those tired old arguments about how The Spare has it hard – it was Harry’s pathetic excuse too. They don’t have it hard. They have lives of unparalleled wealth and opportunity and few very real responsibilities, yet both Harry and Andrew managed to cock it up.
But then he’s cocked it up since the day he was born. He had a short-lived spell of glory in the Falklands War. But he obviously felt he’d done enough for Queen and country and spent the rest of his life in pursuit of pleasure and money and making friends with paedophiles and dodgy dictators along the way.
Ms Guiffre’s memoir, Nobody’s Girl, is published this week and will no doubt heap allegations against the prince. And the public outcry will become louder and louder until his princely title is taken away, until he is thrown out of Royal Lodge and out of the family for good.
King Charles is a clever man – he knows that as long as Andrew is seen in public, riding his horses, living in the lap of luxury the poison he creates will continue to eat away at the heart of the monarchy.
And he cannot have the royal who has done more to shame the institution than any other overshadowing the work and good deeds of those who work tirelessly to prop it up – himself, Kate, Wills, Princess Anne.
We can only be thankful Queen Elizabeth isn’t around to see the self-destruction and the defenestration of the son she protected more than Charles and Edward.
