There’s nothing left of Emily in this Lily Collins look, it’s all Paris

Lily Collins’ latest look is her least “Emily” and most “Paris” yet. In fact, Emily Cooper’s distinctive vintage camera-shaped phone case—and the rest of the surrounding camera equipment—is the only clue that Collins was immersed in filming Emily in Paris season five.

The upcoming new season sees the story move back to the French capital after a brief vacation in Rome. With a renewed version of her bob cut, just about at jaw length and with the ends combed forward.

Gone are the tilted berets, loud prints and impossible volumes. They have given way to a neat and discreet silhouette with which we could easily imagine any Parisian publicist. Finally, a style that Sylvie Grateau would no doubt approve of.

Dressed in a simple short-sleeved midi dress with an impeccable cut and a subtle red floral print to match her raspberry lips, wine nails and sunglasses frame, perhaps the most Emily Cooper part of the outfit was the patent peep-toe pumps with platforms and heels.

It would be quite fitting with the latest plot developments if it were a vintage Victoria Beckham dress – available at Vestiaire Collective – worn by her character, at an equally unstable, but slightly more adult and professional time in her life. The proof is that the show’s stylist has opted for simple jewellery and dispensed with any TikTok variables in her formula… And it’s appreciated.

It’s as if now that she’s finally stopped trying to look Parisian, trying to learn the language, and fitting in with the American notion of her way of dressing and behaving that Emily is closer to achieving the look than ever.

There isn’t much of Emily’s usual nonchalance — which we could translate as indolence of carelessness — in Lily Collins’ meticulously curated new look, which certainly feels much more Paris than Emily Cooper.
