‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’? EU health commissioner at Oasis gig

The European commissioner for health and animal welfare has been rocking out this summer.

Olivér Várhelyi tweeted a video from the Oasis concert at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday, and followed it with another post proclaiming “OasisLive25 is king.”

Oasis is on a comeback tour 16 years after splitting up due to feuding between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher. The band has songs called “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” “The Importance Of Being Idle,” “Live Forever,” and “Pass Me Down The Wine” — none of which reflect official policy.

In addition, Oasis fans have reportedly set a record for drinking the most beer at a Wembley music show, guzzling down twice as much as Coldplay fans and six times as much as Taylor Swift fans.

POLITICO was in attendance but, with the pints costing as much as £8 each, didn’t contribute much to the feat.

However, many EU deadlines do “Slide Away,” and critics of the recent trade deal with the U.S. indicate there was no “Masterplan.”
