Trump: ‘No deal’ on Ukraine ceasefire after Putin meeting

U.S. President Donald Trump, appearing alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin after a nearly three-hour meeting, said that there is “no deal” on a Russia-Ukraine ceasefire but “we have a very good chance of getting there.”

Trump said he would call NATO allies and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Both Trump and Putin offered only vague details about their discussion in a 12-minute press conference where neither leader took questions from the press.

Trump, who allowed Putin to speak first, said the talks were “extremely productive” and that “many points were agreed to,” although there was no progress on “one big one, seemingly an allusion to the ceasefire that he’d hoped to convince his Russian counterpart to agree to.

Writers at Lord’s Press come from a range of professional backgrounds, including history, diplomacy, heraldry, and public administration. Many publish anonymously or under initials—a practice that reflects the publication’s long-standing emphasis on discretion and editorial objectivity. While they bring expertise in European nobility, protocol, and archival research, their role is not to opine, but to document. Their focus remains on accuracy, historical integrity, and the preservation of events and individuals whose significance might otherwise go unrecorded.
