King Charles and Queen Camilla have led fellow members of the Royal Family in the procession to mark day one of Royal Ascot. The star-studded event, which is held annually, has made a spectacular return to Ascot Racecourse today.

As a major fix in the royal calendar, Royal Ascot attracts a glamorous crowd and high-profile participants in the races. Leading the royal attendees, the King, 76, and Queen, 77, waved and smiled at eager racegoers.

Here, the Express looks at which royals attended the first day of Royal Ascot today.

Zara and Mike Tindall

Zara and Mike Tindall stepped out at the first day of the annual event today. The couple, who will celebrate their youngest daughter’s seventh birthday tomorrow, could be seen greeting their royal relatives with kisses as they appeared delighted to be in attendance. Zara, 43, could be seen affectionately pecking the cheek of her uncle Charles, as well as her mother, Princess Anne. Zara was also seen greeting her brother Peter and his girlfriend Harriet.

Edoardo and Princess Beatrice

Princess Beatrice stepped out alongside her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at day one of Royal Ascot. The mum-of-two, 36, stunned in a plaid ensemble. The couple looked delighted as they were seen reunited with fellow royal such as Zara and Mike Tindall. Beatrice gave birth to the couple’s second daughter, named Athena, in January – a little sister for their older daughter, three-year-old Sienna and Edoardo’s son Wolfie, 9.
