King Charles is said to be ‘very sad’ that he has not been able to spend time with his grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, but his ‘priority’ is the monarchy

King Charles is distraught after not being able to share more time with his grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, according to reports.

Nevertheless, a source has insisted that his priority continues to be the monarchy. The source discussed the prospects of a reunion between the King and his son Prince Harry, who has kept his distance from the royal family since moving to America in 2020 — except when attending huge family occasions like Queen Elizabeth’s funeral, or visiting after the King’s cancer revelation.

The Duke of Sussex has indicated his willingness to reconcile with his family. Speaking openly with the BBC, Harry expressed, “There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family. I would love reconciliation with my family.”

He added, “There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.” Nevertheless, a source claimed that while Charles also longs for a resolution, the future of the monarchy must take precedence.

The source alleged to Grazia magazine, “The King does not like conflict and he would love for this all to be resolved but Harry has to earn the trust back. The ball is in his court in that respect. The King loves his son and he is very sad he has not spent any time with Archie and Lilibet, but Harry hasn’t made reconciliation easy.”

They continued, “But the door is always open as far as the King is concerned. He’s a magnanimous man, not a malicious one, but his priority is the preservation of the monarchy.”

These remarks come as Harry has repeatedly called for his family to end the feud. Speaking to Hello! Magazine, royal commentator Robert Jobson suggested Harry should have been more direct in his outreach, particularly towards his father.

Jobson elaborated, “Harry should have said to his father: ‘Sorry, I’ve got this wrong; I’ve made a mistake but I want to reconcile. Reading between the lines, it’s obvious Harry was making overtures to his dad.

“The only way to settle this and not overshadow the King’s reign is for Charles to bravely offer Harry another opportunity for reconciliation. I have the feeling it could have occurred, had Harry not said what he did.

“The King knows all about forgiveness, having made his own errors. If there’s someone who can rise above and extend an olive branch in these circumstances, it would be him.”
