According to reports, celebrity chef Jameson Stocks commented on Meghan Markle’s latest “As Ever” wine release. He avers that the Duchess of Sussex appears to be making money off the Royal Family name through her brand. The remarks follow the launch of Markle’s new lifestyle brand, which arrived ahead of the festive season under her lifestyle label.

Stocks’ comments have drawn attention to how Meghan Markle’s Royal Family name intersects with her business ventures.

Celebrity chef believes Royal Family disapproves Meghan Markle making money off their name

As reported by the Daily Express, celebrity chef Jameson Stocks has voiced criticism of Meghan Markle’s latest “As Ever” wine collection, suggesting that the Duchess of Sussex is “using the royals as a marketing tool.” Stocks, who has previously cooked for King Charles III, claimed that Markle’s business ventures appear to “exploit everyday people” while appealing primarily to a luxury market.

In his remarks, Stocks said that Markle’s approach “misses the mark” by targeting a wealthy demographic, contrasting it with his own philosophy of creating accessible and affordable products. “The difference between my brand and hers,” he explained, “is that I’ve built mine to be affordable for the majority, while hers caters to the minority who can actually afford it.”

When asked about how Prince William and Princess Kate might view the Duchess’s latest collection, Stocks suggested that “no family would appreciate someone making money off their family name,” he opined, “admiration is based on class and how you hold yourself.”

Stocks also reflected on how the late Queen Elizabeth II might have perceived Markle’s business direction, stating that he believed the Queen would have viewed it as “exploiting the everyday people” by leveraging the Meghan Markle Royal Family connection to promote lifestyle products.

The “As Ever” holiday range includes items such as £49 jars of honey, £50 candles, £13 spice kits, and signature fruit spreads. The launch coincides with the festive season and marks another expansion of Markle’s growing lifestyle brand.
