Prince William dodged a question about his uncle Andrew Mountbatten Windsor after the former prince had his official titles stripped last week.
When asked by CNN’s Christiane Amanpour to speak on the recent “change in [his] own family,” the Duke of Cambridge, 43, quickly pivoted their conversation back to his Earthshot Prize.
“I think the Earthshot Prize is a classic example of change. Rather than talk about it, we’re doing it. That’s where I want it to be,” he said at the awards final in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Wednesday.
“These people in here are the true action heroes of all time, and change will come by backing them, not by what I do.”
Earlier this week, William jetted off to Brazil to attend the COP30 climate summit. He will announce the finalists for his Earthshot Prize.
The prize has been awarded to five winners annually since 2021 for their efforts toward environmentalism.
It’s no secret that William reportedly isn’t a big fan of his uncle Andrew.
According to recent royal biography “The Rise and Fall of the Yorks,” a source claimed that the longstanding feud stems from a “rude” comment made by Andrew toward William’s wife, Kate Middleton.
The book also notes that William was “furious” when Andrew, 65, and Sarah Ferguson, 66, unexpectedly attended Katharine, Duchess of Kent’s funeral in September.
“He has been at pains to distance himself from his uncle and not be photographed with him,” the book reads.
“He believes his father has not dealt with him with sufficient firmness and that Andrew — and Sarah Ferguson — have done much to undermine the good work of other members of the Royal Family.”
The book, written by Andrew Lownie, goes on to claim that the heir to the throne also “loathes” Andrew’s ex-wife and was fully supportive of his father’s decision to strip Andrew of his royal titles and evict him from his royal abode.
King Charles announced the official removal of Andrew’s royal titles and honors last Thursday amid renewed interest in the former royal’s connection to accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
The title removal applies to Prince, Duke of York, Earl of Inverness, Baron Killyleagh and “His Royal Highness.” The honors affected include his Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.
Ferguson was also stripped of her Duchess of York title. However, the former couple’s two daughters, Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35, retained their royal titles amid the scandal.
In light of his eviction, Page Six has been told that Andrew will be relocating to a property on the Sandringham estate.
Andrew last came under fire for his ties to Epstein in 2021 when Virginia Giuffre sued Andrew for sexual assault.
At the time, she claimed he allegedly raped her when she was a teenager as part of Epstein’s sex trafficking ring.
Andrew denied Giuffre’s accusations. However, the two eventually settled the case out of court the following year.
As a result of the scandal, Queen Elizabeth stripped son Andrew’s military titles and patronages in 2022.
