Prince Harry and Meghan Markle caused an uproar in the royal family when they announced their decision to move to California a few years after getting hitched. Their decision surprised many. However, royal biographer Phil Dampier has claimed Prince William saw through Markle’s royal plans early on and was wary of her.

Prince William believes Meghan Markle won’t stay at the palace, says expert

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, took everyone by surprise when they decided to move to a new place a few years after their marriage in 2018. While their decision shocked many, royal expert Phil Dampier has claimed that Prince William knew what was about to come. He was, in fact, doubtful of her intention from the very beginning.

According to Daily Mail, the expert believed the future King had “seen right through” the former actress’s plans to marry Harry. William feared Markle “had zero plans of remaining in the Firm for the long haul.”

The allegations by the royal commentator came after the late Queen’s cousin and eldest confidante, Lady Elizabeth Anson, revealed that the Monarch was apprehensive about Markle’s intentions. And it seems William also had similar thoughts.

“I think, unfortunately, that confirms what I’ve been saying or thought for the last few years that, sadly, Meghan never really had any intention of staying in the royal family,” Dampier told the Sun, referencing Anson’s comments.

He further added that Markle “saw it as a stepping stone, getting married to Harry and to new fame and fortune.” “And I think that’s what initially Prince William was concerned about. And that’s why they fell out.”

Anson even alleged that just days before the couple got married, they hoped, “but don’t quite think she is in love. We think she engineered it all.” Lady Elizabeth’s private conversation was revealed by journalist and royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith in her Substack “Royal Extras.”

However, even after giving up his royal duties in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still hold royal titles. But it seems that when Williams takes the crown in the future, he might allegedly strip Harry of his royal titles due to the ongoing controversies.

According to a RadarOnline source, “William’s been clear in private – when his time comes, things will be very different.” The person further added, “Harry and Meghan see that as a warning shot. They’re convinced their titles are on borrowed time.” The step comes after the future monarch allegedly “believes Harry crossed a line and damaged the monarchy.”
