Princess Beatrice‘s royal life might not be in the safe zone that she thinks it is, there is a new issue lurking just around the corner.
Prince William is thinking hard about his future legacy as the King of England, and it probably will involve less royal family members. It would be no surprise to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle downgraded by the Prince of Wales, but it appears Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugene are at risk too — for much different reasons.
“William is very concerned about (Beatrice and Eugenie) and their connections with the various people in the Middle East,” Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, told NewsNation.

Beatrice’s frequent trips to the Middle East raised eyebrows last fall because the Daily Mail believed there was a financial connection for Andrew to “bankroll his stay at Royal Lodge.” A trip to an energy conference in Abu Dhabi in November 2024 felt suspicious to palace insiders.
“There was a general feeling that Beatrice was an unofficial ambassador for the UK,” journalist Hadley Gamble told the media outlet. “Beatrice was quite literally in the inner circle at a gathering of global energy CEOs, top finance guys, and policymakers.”
The palace wanted Andrew, Beatrice, and Eugenie to be more transparent about their sources of income to avoid any further Jeffrey Epstein-type scandals, but they reportedly refused. That decision is evidently one of the reasons why William was “aghast” that his father named Beatrice as the deputy patron of Outward Bound, per NewsNation.
The Daily Mail reported that the promotion was given to Princess Beatrice as a part of a “secret deal” between Charles and Andrew ahead of his banishment to Sandringham. The agreement meant that “no action [would be] taken by the King against Beatrice and Eugenie,” and they “would be allowed to accept new official royal roles.”
Still, Prince William doesn’t want to take any chances with family scandals when he is king — he’s going to run a much tighter palace than his father.
”They need to go away,” Lownie told NewsNation. “There are some more scandals to come (regarding the York family). William wants to nip it all in the bud. With Charles, it’s all too little, and a little too late.”
