Following Andrew Mountbatten Windsor‘s humiliating loss of of titles and honours, his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson finds herself in a difficult position.

Still currently living at the controversial Royal Lodge in Windsor, Sarah is said to be spending much of her time in a specially constructed bar at the back of the mansion, known as “The Doghouse,” where she drowns her sorrows with her trusted staff members.

However, she also has a significant amount of business-related paperwork to sift through, including the removal of the title ‘Duchess’ from documents related to the eight limited companies she still oversees. The Daily Mail suggests that the former duchess is preoccupied with the difficult task of disentangling a complex web of interconnected companies with which she was involved.

A royal insider revealed that Sarah is advising her daughters to keep a diplomatic distance from their disgraced parents, stating: “Sarah is encouraging Beatrice and Eugenie to get on with life as normal and discouraging them from meeting with her.”

She fears that public association with their parents could jeopardise their own standing within the Royal family. Despite these challenges, Sarah still has influential friends who could offer her some form of support.

Royal author Andrew Lownie told The Mirror: “Richard Branson’s invited her to stay at Necker Island whenever she wants. Lots of people will come out of the woodwork to support her.

“So she has lots of places that she can go to. I suspect she will go somewhere like, Switzerland or, close to her daughter in Portugal, assuming that relationship should endure.”

He added that prior to her former husband’s sudden fall from grace, Sarah had nearly regained her position within Royal circles: “There she was back in the royal box at Wimbledon,” Lownie said. “I think she had been invited to Sandringham for Christmas.”

That invitation has now been firmly withdrawn, along with any invitation for Andrew, who is reportedly spending his time “ranting and muttering” about his current predicament.

The situation could deteriorate further. Lownie revealed to the Mirror that numerous individuals are now prepared to share their own accounts of working alongside the disgraced Royal.

He said: “I’m hearing from protection officers, diplomats, people in the Navy. I’m getting two or three people a day.”

He claims the volume of fresh revelations means he’s not only preparing an updated, expanded edition of his explosive biography Entitled – which played such a significant role in dismantling Andrew’s reputation – but now possesses sufficient material for a follow-up book.

He explained: “I also have plans to do a sequel called Untitled … I’ve just got so much new material from people coming forward.”
