Virginia Giuffre claims Andrew’s ‘team’ hired ‘internet trolls’ to hassle her

Prince Andrew’s “team” tried to hire “internet trolls to hassle” his sex accuser Virginia Giuffre has claimed in her posthumous memoirs.

Andrew announced on Friday that he would be giving up his Duke of York title and all other honours following the intense scrutiny he has faced over his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Virginia Giuffre – one of Epstein’s victims – accused Andrew of sexually assaulting her on three occasions in 2001, when she was 17 and had been trafficked by Epstein.

Fresh accusations by Ms Giuffre, which appear in the harrowing account of her life, come as the Metropolitan Police said it is “actively” looking into claims Andrew passed her date of birth and social security number to his bodyguard in a bid to dig up dirt for a smear campaign.

Pressure is now growing on the royal family to go further by backing a move to formally strip Andrew of his dukedom through parliamentary legislation, after he relinquished use of his Duke of York title on Friday.

Ms Giuffre’s book Nobody’s Girl is being published on Tuesday.

Despite no longer being a member of the Royal Family, she remains one of his closest allies, even sharing his home at Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

King Charles meets ‘hero’ survivors of Manchester synagogue attack

In his first appearance at an official engagement since Andrew’s decision to give up his titles, the King spoke of his sadness as he met survivors of the Manchester synagogue attack.

He paid a visit to the congregation to deliver his sympathy in person.

Charles was introduced to the “heroes” by Rabbi Daniel Walker – a group of senior figures from the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue who helped stop Jihad Al-Shamie’s terror attack on the on the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

“I can’t tell you how sad I am,” the King told the group, which included the synagogue’s chairman Alan Levy, who helped to barricade the door, and its president Hilary Foxler.

Later, when he met other members of the congregation, the King commented it was a “terrible thing to come out of the blue”.

King ‘weary and furious’ at Andrew scandals

Royal sources told how Charles had grown “weary and furious” over the continuing tide of scandal plaguing the monarchy and told Andrew that drastic action was needed to stem it.

One insider said: “After close consultation with his family, and in particular Prince William, the King summoned Andrew to tell him to do the right thing. He was told it was beyond comprehension for him to continue to enjoy the privileges of his position.”

Following Thursday’s phone call, Andrew agreed to give up his titles except that of prince, and issued a statement on Friday night.

Andrew’s titles removed from Palace website

Prince Andrew’s royal titles have been scrubbed from the Buckingham Palace website after he sensationally gave them up on Friday.

The swift move from the Palace comes after a long series of embarrassment for the royal family regarding Andrew; from sex assault allegations, to his friendship with a convicted paedophile and being drawn into the collapsed China spy case embroiling the government.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie make statement with no-show

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have made a huge decision after Prince Andrew announced he’d stop using his royal titles. On Friday, the disgraced Prince announced that he had been consulting his brother, King Charles, about his role within The Royal Family.

His two daughters appear to have withdrawn from their public appearances for the time being as media reports swirl about their father. Princess Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 35, had been scheduled to attend an event at the British Museum over the weekend attended by celebrities and members of the aristocracy – but failed to show.

The sister’s had been set to appear at the Pink Ball, which was aiming to mirror the famous Met Gala event which takes place in New York every May. Naomi Campbell, Janet Jackson and Diana, Princess of Wales’ niece, Lady Kitty Spencer were all on the guest list, alongside the two Princesses.

Buckingham Palace makes huge change after Andrew gives up title

Buckingham Palace has finally made a huge change to its website following Prince Andrew giving up his Duke of York title.

It now appears that his Duke of York honour has now been scrubbed from the site – and he is now just referred to on it as Andrew. However, he still appears on the site, despite not taking part in public life.

Giuffre describes 2022 legal battle with Prince Andrew

In her posthumous memoir, Virginia Giuffre claimed Prince Andrew hid behind “the well-guarded gates” of Balmoral Castle, which made it hard for her lawyers to serve him with papers.

Speaking about her 2022 legal settlement with Andrew, Ms Giuffre said: “We would never get a confession, of course. That’s what settlements are designed to avoid. But we were trying for the next best thing: a general acknowledgment of what I’d been through.”

She also described how she took part in two days of mediation, and her lawyer read the duke’s agreed settlement statement at 2.30am Florida time “through tears, both hers and mine”.

Plaid Cymru to back ‘any efforts’ to strip Andrew of dukedom

Plaid Cymru’s Westminster leader Liz Saville Roberts said she would back any legislation to strip Prince Andrew of his dukedom.

She said: “Public funds, police protection and royal privilege have long buffered Prince Andrew from the consequences of his actions. And we’ve paid for all this. I will support any efforts to hold royals to the same standards and laws as everyone else – Parliament must have the power to remove privileges from abusers of position.”

Giuffre’s ‘heartfelt wish’ that memoir is published in event of her death

Ms Giuffre, who died by suicide in April, wrote an email to her co-writer Amy Wallace at the start of that month shortly after being involved in a car crash that said it was her “heartfelt wish that this work be published, regardless of my circumstances at the time”, and that it was still to be released in the event of her death.

“The content of this book is crucial, as it aims to shed light on the systemic failures that allow the trafficking of vulnerable individuals across borders,” she said in the email.

Ms Giuffre added: “In the event of my passing, I would like to ensure that Nobody’s Girl is still released. I believe it has the potential to impact many lives and foster necessary discussions about these grave injustices.”

Pressure on parliament to ‘act’ on removing Andrew’s titles

While some government figures say the decision to strip Andrew of his “prince” title is a matter for the royal family, others are putting pressure on the parliament to make a decision. York Central MP Rachael Maskell is among those calling on Parliament to “act”.

Ms Maskell, who in 2022 introduced a private members’ bill that would give the monarch powers to remove titles, told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “It’s a single clause bill which I’m proposing, so it wouldn’t take up time, but it would make a real difference should these occurrences arise.

“And of course, any associations with individuals as apparent as somebody like Epstein could then be addressed in such a way. So I really do trust that Parliament will take this seriously and recognise there are opportunities here to address the wrongs of history and to ensure that the voices of victims and survivors are really heard and acted upon.”

Memoir claims Andrew’s ‘team’ tried to hire ‘internet trolls to hassle’ sex accuser

Prince Andrew’s “team” tried to hire “internet trolls to hassle” his sex accuser Virginia Giuffre, she has claimed in her posthumous memoirs.

The allegations, which appear in the harrowing account of her life, come as the Metropolitan Police said it is “actively” looking into claims Andrew passed her date of birth and social security number to his bodyguard in a bid to dig up dirt for a smear campaign.

Ms Giuffre was pictured in the “pink V-necked, sleeveless mini T-shirt and a sparkly, multicolored pair of jeans embroidered with a pattern of interlocking horses” in the famous photo showing the then-duke with his arm around her waist at Ghislaine Maxwell’s London flat in March 2001.

She alleged, which Andrew vehemently denies, that she was forced to have sex with the prince on three occasions, including when she was 17, after being trafficked by paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew paid millions to Ms Giuffre to settle a civil sexual assault case, despite claiming never to have met her.

Ms Giuffre also described how he hid behind “the well-guarded gates” of Balmoral Castle, making it difficult for her lawyers to serve him with papers.

Virginia Giuffre’s memoir details alleged encounters with Andrew

Titled Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, Virginia Giuffre’s book is due to be released tomorrow. The memoir was co-written by author-journalist Amy Wallace, and completed before Ms Giuffre died by suicide in April.

In the book, Giuffre details alleged encounters with Prince Andrew, who she sued in 2021, claiming that they had sex when she was 17. Andrew denied her claims and the two settled the lawsuit in 2022.

Bridget Phillipson: Royals took ‘right course of action’

Bridget Phillipson says “the right course of action” has been taken by the royal family over Prince Andrew’s titles – but added she did not think they would want to “detract from wider parliamentary business.”

Asked about calls for Andrew to have his titles formally removed, Phillipson said: “He holds that title by virtue of being the son of a monarch. We agree and support the decision the royal family and Prince Andrew have taken and the recent announcement that they’ve made,” she told Sky News.

“When you also hear the victims of Epstein and hear about the abuse that they endured, it’s incredibly powerful to hear that, and I think first and foremost in our minds ought to be those who suffered at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein and making sure that we never forget about putting victims front and centre.

“But I think in the specific case here, about what the royal family have done, we believe that’s the right course of action.”

Andrew remains a prince and eighth in line of succession

Prince Andrew announced on Friday that he would be giving up his Duke of York title and all other honours – including his role as a Royal Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter. But he remains a prince and eighth in the line of succession.

Royal commentator Alastair Bruce said Andrew became a prince when he was born to the late Queen Elizabeth II. “I think […] that style was quite special to the late Queen,” he told Sky News. “And perhaps the King, for the moment, thinks that can be left alone.

“It’s a matter really for the King, for the royal household, perhaps with the guidance and advice of government, which I’m sure they are taking.”

Palace was ‘absolutely right’ to strip titles, minister says

A minister said Buckingham Palace was “absolutely right” to strip titles from Prince Andrew and “there may be lots of questions” about his arrangements over the course of this week. Andrew issued a statement on Friday in which he said he was relinquishing his Duke of York title and honours to prevent distracting from the work of the monarch and the royal family.

Asked whether the King’s brother should have the right to continue living at Royal Lodge in Windsor, children and families minister Josh MacAlister told Times Radio: “You’ll understand why a Government minister isn’t going to get into second guessing what Buckingham Palace and the King may decide.

“I imagine over the course of this week there may be lots of questions about arrangements for Prince Andrew. I think it was right on Friday and we very much agree with the decision the King made and the royal family to remove titles from Prince Andrew.

“That is absolutely right and we welcome it, but we’re not going to provide commentary on decisions by the Palace on this.”

Government to be ‘guided by Royal family’ on stripping Andrew of titles

Ministers will be “guided” by the royal family in how they handle Prince Andrew’s position, Ed Miliband has said.

The Energy Secretary told Sky News’ Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips programme: “I think in this we’re going to be guided by the palace and the royal family. Obviously, all of our sympathies and the sympathies of your viewers at this time are with Virginia Giuffre and her family as to these really concerning set of issues.

“But I think it’s really important as a Government minister, that we allow the royal family to make decisions on these questions.”

Royals face further embarrassment as Virginia Giuffre’s memoir set to go on sale

Prince Andrew and the Royal family are bracing for further embarrassment with the impending release of Virginia Giuffre’s memoir, coinciding with the week the King is set to pray with the Pope.

Virginia Giuffre’s book is set to hit the shelves tomorrow (October 21), just one day before Charles embarks on a state visit to the Holy See. This visit will see him become the first British monarch to pray at a public service with the Pope since the Reformation.

Charles, as Supreme Governor of the Church of England, and Pope Leo XIV, leader of the Catholic Church, will join together in prayer during an ecumenical service in the Sistine Chapel, marking a significant moment in the ongoing dialogue between their two churches.

England rugby star’s ‘inappropriate’ Prince Andrew joke

Former rugby star James Haskell, who played alongside Mike Tindall for England, has confessed to making an “inappropriate” joke about Prince Andrew.

During a chat with The Times, Haskell admitted to cracking a joke at the wedding of Tindall and Zara Phillips. He said: “It was inappropriate, but it was funny.”

The former rugby star has opened up about his connections to the Royal Family, to read the full story click here.

Prince Andrew’s statement has hidden message – says royal expert

Royal expert Jennie Bond says how the use of “we” in his statement rather than “I” showed the pressure put on him by Charles and William.

“I am struck by the use of the pronoun ‘we’. This is a clear indication that extreme pressure has been put on Prince Andrew to do the decent thing if you like and fall on his sword. If he hadn’t fallen on his sword he would have been pushed very firmly onto it,” she told Sky News.

Prince Andrew has given up all his remaining royal titles, honours and public duties amid renewed scrutiny of his ties to Epstein and an alleged Chinese spy.

Book details alleged encounters with Andrew

In the book, Virginia Giuffre details alleged encounters with Prince Andrew, who she sued in 2021, claiming that they had sex when she was 17.

Andrew denied her claims and the two settled the lawsuit in 2022.

Virginia Giuffre memoir to be published on Tuesday

Titled Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, Virginia Giuffre’s book is set for release on Tuesday.

It was co-written by author-journalist Amy Wallace, and was completed before Ms Giuffre died by suicide in April.

Sarah Ferguson ‘borrowed cash from Epstein’ for 15 years

Sarah Ferguson allegedly borrowed money from convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein for 15 years.

It has now been claimed that Epstein complained to friends about Sarah asking him for money which went beyond the £15,000 she admitted taking from him.

In emails seen by the Daily Mail, Epstein revealed that Fergie was so desperate to cosy up to him that “she was the first to celebrate” his release from jail and that she travelled to the US “with her two daughters in tow” at the time.

Emily Maitlis ‘felt sick’ after discovering Andrew’s lie

Emily Maitlis has said that she “felt sick” when Prince Andrew’s 2011 email to Epstein came to light. The journalist appeared on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, where they were discussing Andrew relinquishing all his titles.

The prince allegedly told Epstein they were “in this together” in a 2011 email, despite telling Emily Maitlis in his infamous BBC Newsnight interview that he cut contact with the disgraced financier in December 2010. Sharing her reaction to the revelation, the journalist said: “I felt sick actually.

“He was categoric in 2019 in the Newsnight interview that he had come to stay with Epstein and used this very odd phrase to me. It was the ‘chicken’s way out’ to call up and so he came to stay with Jeffrey Epstein so he could break the news of the end of their friendship in person.”

Speaking about Ms Giuffre’s upcoming book, which will be released on Tuesday, Emily said: “It will be harrowing, it will be devastating and it will document a life of pain and a woman who was in so much trauma that she believed by speaking out that she could help others through what she had gone through and that she could in someway try and repair the damage to her own life.”

Prince Andrew ‘unable to guarantee’ there would be no more claims

Prince Andrew gave up his titles after failing to give the King guarantees there would be no more damaging claims in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, according to a royal source.

A royal source said: “Andrew has been asked plainly what else was likely to emerge from his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, but said he could not give any guarantees.

“The scandal has engulfed the royal family for far too long forcing the King to intervene and effectively banish him from royal life.”

Andrew giving up titles is ‘a step in the right direction’

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Ms Giuffre’s ghostwriter Amy Wallace said she wished the 41-year-old were “here to speak for herself”.

“Having worked alongside her for four years, I can say that it was her fervent wish that all the men she was trafficked to be brought to justice,” she said.

“While Prince Andrew’s relinquishing of his Duke of York title may appear symbolic, it is a step in the right direction. There is no question that it was Virginia’s strength and bravery that were the catalysts that brought about Prince Andrew’s fall from grace.”

Prince William wants Andrew ‘banned from all royal life’

Prince William will be more ruthless and ban Andrew from “all elements” of royal life when he becomes King, it has been reported.

It is alleged in The Times that the Prince of Wales is not satisfied with the outcome so far of the so-called “Andrew problem” and he will be banned “from all elements of royal life” when he is monarch.

This would mean he would not be able to attend either public or private royal events including the Coronation. It is reported that William sees Andrew as a “threat” and a “reputational risk” to the monarchy.

“We’re definitely in uncharted territory for royal scandals,” said a royal courtier. William is also set to ban Sarah Ferguson from royal events after she has now been stripped of her Duchess of York title.

Andrew spends £10m on his ‘last status symbol’

Prince Andrew has splurged a whopping £10million on sprucing up his Royal Lodge despite recently dropping his royal titles, it has been revealed.

Andrew, 65, will be allowed to continue living at the property in Windsor, and according to royal author Andrew Lownie, he spent millions re-decorating the lavish home.

Lownie suspects that Andrew will stay at the residence for “as long as he can afford to” because it is his “last status symbol” which is linked to the crown.

He added: “He could voluntarily vacate the 30-room mansion he has occupied for the past 20 years. But the signs suggest that he will stay as long as he can afford to; he pays a peppercorn rent and has spent up to £10million restoring it.”
