Dutch State Visit to the Czech Republic

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are on a State Visit to the Czech Republic at the invitation of President Petr Pavel on June 4th and 5th, with a focus on cooperation in the field of defense industry, trade promotion, energy security and transition, and increasing social resilience, though due to the political situation in The Netherlands, the King will return after the first day.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima began their State Visit with an Official Welcome Ceremony hosted by President Pavel and First Lady Eva Pavlová at Prague Castle before a meeting of the delegations and a press conference, followed by a a wreath-laying ceremony at the Milada Horáková monument.

The King and Queen visited the Senate in the afternoon for a meeting with President Miloš Vystrčil before visiting Parliament for a meeting with President of the Chamber of Deputies and meeting with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. The Presidential Couple also joined King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima on a visit to People in Need, an NGO with programs to promote social integration, and to the military airbase Kbely Airport.

In the evening, President Petr Pavel and First Lady Eva Pavlová hosted a State Banquet for King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima at Prague Castle, with speeches by both the King and President following an exchange of honours.

Queen Máxima wore a repeated Jan Taminiau Gown and the Dutch Mellerio Ruby Tiara and Parure.
