French State Visit to Britain

The British Royal Family are hosting French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at Windsor Castle on their State Visit to the United Kingdom this week, which is the latest in two centuries of French State Visits of Britain and follows the King and Queen’s State Visit to France in 2023.

The Prince and Princess of Wales (wearing Princess Diana’s Collingwood Pearl Earrings and a Pearl Necklace from the late Queen) greeted President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at RAF Northolt and traveled with them to Windsor.

King Charles and Queen Camilla will receive President Emmanuel Macron and the First Lady in an Official Welcome Ceremony at Windsor before a Carriage Procession to Windsor Castle, where there will be an Guard of Honour and a Lunch.

In the afternoon, the President and Mrs Macron will travel from Windsor to Westminster Abbey to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier before a visit to the Palace of Westminster to address parliamentarians and peers from the Royal Gallery.

In the evening, King Charles and Queen Camilla will hold a State Banquet in honour of President Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte Macron at Windsor Castle.

LP Staff Writers

Writers at Lord’s Press come from a range of professional backgrounds, including history, diplomacy, heraldry, and public administration. Many publish anonymously or under initials—a practice that reflects the publication’s long-standing emphasis on discretion and editorial objectivity. While they bring expertise in European nobility, protocol, and archival research, their role is not to opine, but to document. Their focus remains on accuracy, historical integrity, and the preservation of events and individuals whose significance might otherwise go unrecorded.
