England qualified for the final after beating Italy on Tuesday in Geneva and will face Spain, winners of the second semifinal against Germany on Wednesday. The defending champions could become the second team, after eight-time champions Germany, to successfully defend their crown.

Basel’s St. Jakob-Park will host the 2025 final. FC Basel’s modern stadium, nicknamed ‘Joggeli’ by locals, opened in 2001 to replace the old St. Jakob Stadium, the venue for the 1954 FIFA Men’s World Cup.

LP Staff Writers

Writers at Lord’s Press come from a range of professional backgrounds, including history, diplomacy, heraldry, and public administration. Many publish anonymously or under initials—a practice that reflects the publication’s long-standing emphasis on discretion and editorial objectivity. While they bring expertise in European nobility, protocol, and archival research, their role is not to opine, but to document. Their focus remains on accuracy, historical integrity, and the preservation of events and individuals whose significance might otherwise go unrecorded.
